The practice loop

How SkillPrep works.

Everything important is clear before you begin. The interview is immersive. The feedback is useful when you come back down.

STEP 01

Bring the context

Pick a role, select your focus, or add the job description and experience you want to practice against. Choose a duration: 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

  • Select a supported duration and relevant interview preferences
  • Add a resume or job posting so every question has a reason
  • Optionally include written or coding tasks for deeper evaluation
  • Review your blueprint before committing
STEP 02

Review your blueprint

Before any credit is consumed, you see the interview plan: role, focus areas, duration, and interviewer. You can adjust or cancel without penalty at this stage.

  • See the exact matching credit impact
  • Full-slot consumption rule is shown before commitment
  • Cancel releases the reservation—no credit consumed
STEP 03

Enter the live interview

Meet your AI interviewer. Answer out loud or in writing. Handle a conversation that changes with you. The timer is server-controlled and the full slot is consumed at start.

  • Preflight checks microphone, camera, network, and provider readiness
  • Text-accessible alternatives available throughout
  • Written response and coding tasks run in a sandboxed runner
  • Timer is authoritative and server-aligned
STEP 04

Leave with a plan

After the session ends, a separate analysis model reviews the transcript and task output against a versioned rubric. Every claim links to session evidence—not a generic answer key.

  • Evidence-based strengths and improvement opportunities
  • Score dimensions with confidence and limitations
  • Concrete practice suggestions for your next rehearsal
Credit rule

Starting an interview consumes the full reserved slot, even if you end early. A failure before the interview starts releases the reservation—no credit is consumed. Interviews cannot be resumed. This rule is shown at pricing, blueprint, and preflight so you can decide with full information.

Accessibility built in

Accessibility accommodations are built in, not bolted on. SkillPrep targets WCAG 2.2 AA as the product baseline.

  • Keyboard-only use with visible focus and logical focus order
  • Screen-reader names and status announcements throughout
  • Text-accessible alternatives: type answers instead of speaking
  • Reduced motion support and non-color status cues
  • Captions and transcripts where applicable
  • Generous touch targets and zoom/reflow support
